Can you use any cards in commander?
What is Commander? In Commander, each player chooses a legendary creature as the commander of their deck. They then play with a 99-card deck that contains only cards of their commander’s colors. Also, other than basic lands, each deck can only use one copy of any card.
Can you use old cards in commander?
Yes they are legal in commander barring any bans!
Which emrakul is banned in commander?
They make deck building more homogeneous and less diverse. For this reason I think that Emrakul, the Aeons Torn is on the ban list because at some point the RC determined that the card wasn’t very fun to play against, was too ubiquitous in decks, and wasn’t helping commander to be a format that was casual and fun.
Are Gold bordered cards Legal in Commander?
While gold-border cards aren’t officially legal in Commander, many local playgroups have legalized them and most folks who you’ll play in a pickup game down at your LGS won’t care if you have them.
Is Tinker legal in Commander?
Tinker will never be unbanned in commander. A T2 or T3 Artifact creature of monstrous proportions could not be matched, and it would be a little too easy to build a deck around tinker.

Where does the color of a commander card come from?
A card’s color identity can come from any part of that card, including its casting cost and any mana symbols in its text. Every card in your Commander deck must only use mana symbols that also appear on your commander.
